Sofia Live Festival presents the first visit to Bulgaria of one of the most impressive live bands of the contemporary alternative scene, The Veils, on November 4, 2026 at Sofia Live Club. The concert is part of the festival’s autumn club program and marks the beginning of a long-awaited meeting between the Bulgarian audience and one of the most emotionally charged bands of the contemporary alternative scene.
The event is part of the band’s European tour in support of their new album Fragile World, which is released on June 19, 2026. Just a year after the highly acclaimed Asphodels (2025), The Veils return with a more raw, direct and instinctive sound. Recorded live on tape in New Zealand and produced by Tom Healy, Fragile World captures the band in a moment of creative spontaneity and tension, an album that Finn Andrews himself describes as “scary in a good way.”
The title Fragile World reflects both the sense of instability in the modern world and the fragile process of music-making, a thousand small decisions that gradually shape the whole. It is this emotional clarity and intensity that makes the new album one of the strongest releases in the band’s discography.
Formed in early 2000 and signed to Rough Trade Records when frontman Finn Andrews was just 16, The Veils have now released eight studio albums and over two decades of international exposure. Over the years, the band has built a reputation as one of the world’s most impressive live acts, touring Europe, North America and Australia, and selling out shows in the last two years.
Their music has been used by directors such as Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton and David Lynch, and their albums have received high praise from media outlets such as The Guardian, Pitchfork and The Observer, who have described the band as “magnetic”, “passionate” and “Herculean in intensity”.
The concert at Sofia Live Club promises an evening of dramatic dynamics – from quiet, almost confessional moments to explosive climaxes, which are most strongly experienced in the intimacy of the club stage.
