On January 24 and 25, 2026, Sofia Live Club will become a space for a meeting between audience, artists and new ideas with SOFIA LIVE FESTIVAL: NEXT GENERATION – a two-day concert program with free admission, which presents six projects from the new generation of the contemporary independent scene.
NEXT GENERATION is a natural continuation of the philosophy of Sofia Live Festival – a platform that does not just showcase established names, but invests time, attention and trust in the development of new voices, new sounds and bold artistic directions. The format brings together on one stage projects with different origins and genre identities, united by the desire to experiment, tell stories and seek their own place in today’s dynamic musical landscape.
Within the two concert days, the audience will have the opportunity to hear six different projects that reflect the breadth of the contemporary scene, from alternative and electronic influences to genre hybrids, experimental forms and a strong authorial presence. The program presents the new generation of artists and creates a space for meetings, exchange and open experience of music, with an emphasis on live performance and without barriers for the audience.
SOFIA LIVE FESTIVAL: NEXT GENERATION is not a contest and is not a competition. It is an invitation to the audience to discover new names, and to the artists to take the next step forward. The format aims to create a real context for development, visibility and future opportunities, by putting music and live experience at the center.
On the first day, January 24, the Sofia Live Club stage will come alive with performances by the Bulgarian duo nominated for the Music Moves Europe awards LUNIKK, the young Bulgarian band Mono & The Stereos and the Romanian indie formation Alone at Parties, who will show different musical faces of the contemporary scene. The band from Cluj-Napoca combines soft-sounding synthesizers, playful electric guitars and warm vocals in an intimate indie style. After their debut in 2021, they quickly established themselves on the Romanian scene with appearances at festivals such as Electric Castle and Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as international showcases, including BuSH Budapest and SoAlive Music Conference. Their latest EP Petals (2025) marks a new direction in their sound, with more lo-fi, punk and electronic elements, and also includes a collaboration with Bulgarian artist Desi Latinova.
On January 25, the program continues with the young Bulgarian singer, songwriter and musician JENYKA, the Hungarian-Serbian project Nemeček and Greek musician Thanassis Dzingovic. Nemeček presents a hypnotic and intense noise rock reading of the folklore tradition, music with a dense atmosphere and raw energy that blurs the boundaries between genres. Thanassis Dzingovic, one of the most recognizable alternative guitarists in Greece and known for his work with Super Stereo, will perform his first concert in Sofia in partnership with the Music From Greece initiative. The audience will hear songs from his debut solo album (2021), as well as new material from his upcoming album, planned for 2026 – music with a traveling mood and emotional lyrics in Greek.
