The Berlin-based composer and pianist arrives in Sofia on April 4, 2027, with music that reminds us to slow down and discover the beauty in the little things.
Composer Robert Gromotka – who boasts millions of listeners – comes to Sofia Live Club on April 4, 2027, as part of The Little Life Tour. This European tour features both his latest compositions and works from earlier stages of his career. Accompanied by a cellist, he will present a concert that blends solo piano with a musical dialogue between the two instruments, weaving together elements of classical music, contemporary minimalism, and improvisation. The event is presented under the banner of the Sofia Live Festival.
In a world that constantly demands our attention, Gromotka’s music offers us a chance to slow down. His compositions do not rush toward a specific destination; instead, they allow melodies to unfold naturally, thoughts to wander, and silence to carry as much significance as the notes themselves. The Little Life is a concert dedicated to the small things we often overlook in our rush to tick off yet another task from our to-do lists.
Gromotka describes his music as “written improvisations” – compositions that follow their own curiosity rather than adhering to a predetermined path. In his world, classical music, contemporary minimalism, folk motifs, and improvisation converge to create melodies rich with deep emotional resonance. The pieces Dreamland and Little Life have reached millions of listeners worldwide, becoming a personal soundtrack for moments of tranquility, reflection, and solitude.
Robert Gromotka is a Berlin-based composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist. His musical journey began with classical flute training and took him through Dortmund and Granada before leading him to international stages, where he has performed with various pop ensembles and classical orchestras. Alongside his solo career, he works as a composer for film and television, including projects for German public broadcasters WDR and RBB.
His artistic inspirations include Arvo Pärt, Chopin, and Satie. Their influence is evident in a musical language that blends minimalist clarity, expressive melodies, and subtle textures. String instruments hold a special place in his work, adding depth and an orchestral dimension to his compositions. His collaborations with musicians such as Claudio Constantini, Alexander Motovilov, and Emilio Piano reveal an artist who moves fluidly between different musical worlds.
With The Little Life Tour, Gromotka invites the audience to set aside the noise of daily life and immerse themselves in music that does not demand attention, but rather draws it in gradually. Because, sometimes, the most beautiful thing we can do is simply to remain in the present moment.
