After her impressive performance at Sofia Live Festival in 2024, Dutch artist KOVACS returns to Sofia for her first solo club concert in Bulgaria. On November 3, 2026, she will take the stage at SOFIA LIVE CLUB at the invitation of Sofia Live Festival.
With her thick, dark and deeply emotional voice, KOVACS has been building a recognizable artistic world for years, in which soul, noir aesthetics, alternative pop and cinematic drama intertwine into something completely her own. Inspired by artists such as Betty Davis, Etta James and Tina Turner, but also by the melancholic sensibility of Amy Winehouse, Shirley Bassey and Portishead, she creates music that sounds both classic and contemporary.
Her breakthrough came in 2014 with the EP My Love, whose eponymous single became a European hit with its dark cinematic soul style and atmosphere reminiscent of a James Bond movie soundtrack. Just a year later, her debut album Shades of Black reached No. 1 in the Netherlands and took her to the stages of festivals such as Glastonbury, Sziget, Pinkpop, Rock Werchter and North Sea Jazz.
Over the years, KOVACS has established her reputation as an artist with an extremely impactful stage presence and concerts that combine intimacy, theatricality and raw emotion. The albums Cheap Smell (2018) and Child of Sin (2023), including a collaboration with Till Lindemann of Rammstein, further expand her musical world with bolder and more experimental influences.
The concert in Sofia comes at a particularly interesting time for the artist. In the second half of 2026, KOVACS is set to release a new album, in which electronic music takes center stage in her sound for the first time. Inspired by the industrial energy of Berlin, old-school electro and futuristic electronics of the 70s, the new material adds a new dimension to her signature soulful style, without losing its emotional depth and sense of nostalgia.
Her return to Sofia promises much more than a concert, it will be a rare opportunity for the audience to experience up close an artist who turns every song into a cinematic narrative, and every performance into an intense and mesmerizing stage experience.
A limited number of Early Bird tickets priced at €40 are available only at www.sofialivefest.com, and on June 3, tickets will go on sale at the regular price of €45 in the Eventim network and partner box offices.
