The world-renowned artist, producer and musical visionary Quantic arrives in Sofia on May 29 for a special DJ set SOFIA LIVE CLUB, at the invitation of Sofia Live Festival. Behind the name Quantic is the British musician Will Holland, one of the most interesting figures on the contemporary global music scene, whose work connects continents, cultures and genres.
For more than two decades, Quantic has built an impressive discography, in which soul, funk, jazz, electronica, Latin rhythms and club music coexist. Whether it is solo projects, large-scale collaborations or extended band formats such as The Quantic Soul Orchestra, his distinctive style remains recognizable, deep, warm and organic-sounding mix of styles, created with attention to detail and a strong sense of musical culture.
As a tireless researcher of sound, Will Holland spends years traveling and working with local scenes all over the world – from Latin America to Africa and the USA. Projects like Ondatrópica and compilations like The Original Sound of Cumbia reveal his deep interest in traditional music and his ability to weave it into a contemporary context. At the same time, his collaborations with artists like Alice Russell and Nidia Góngora highlight his sensitivity to vocal expression and live sound.
In recent years, Quantic has returned to the club scene with a new energy, inspired by house and disco sounds, culminating in the album Dancing While Falling, a euphoric and mature record that solidifies his place in contemporary electronic music. His work in New York and regular appearances at clubs like Good Room further shape this new stage of his development.
On May 29th at Sofia Live Club, the audience will have the opportunity to experience a Quantic DJ set, in which Will Holland will intertwine rare selections, original productions and global rhythms in a dynamic and deep musical journey. Expect a set that flows freely through soul, funk, Latin, house and beyond, with style, taste and an uncompromising selection.
An evening where club energy meets global sound, a selection from an artist for whom music has no boundaries.
