One of the most recognizable voices in global hip-hop, Chali 2na, arrives in Bulgaria for the first time on June 9 for a concert at SOFIA LIVE CLUB, at the invitation of Sofia Live Festival. With his iconic baritone and impressive stage presence, he is among the most charismatic and respected figures in alternative hip-hop of the last three decades.
Best known as the co-founder of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli, Chali 2na has built a career marked by strong social energy, funk grooves and an inimitable vocal style. After his debut solo album Fish Outta Water (2009), he embarked on an independent path that took him on world tours with his band House of Vibe and in collaborations with some of the most respected DJs and musicians on the international scene.
In Sofia, Chali 2na will take the stage with his live band, the special participation of the British DJ and producer DJ A-Skillz guarantees a dynamic show, combining live instrumental sound, funk bass lines and explosive beats. The format promises not just a concert, but a complete stage experience, energetic, danceable and uncompromising in the spirit of classic hip-hop.
In addition to being a musician, Chali 2na is also a visual artist with a long-standing connection to graffiti culture. Born in Chicago and moving to Los Angeles in the early 80s, he grew up in the heart of the nascent hip-hop scene, where he naturally combined music and visual art. His creative development culminated in the large-scale multimedia project Against the Current, a series of five-part, genre-diverse EPs, accompanied by an art album with his original paintings, drawings and photographs.
The concert on June 9 will bring together classics from the Jurassic 5 catalog, solo tracks and the characteristic flow that has made Chali 2na an institution for alternative hip-hop fans around the world.

The first 100 Early Bird tickets are priced at € 30, after they are sold out the regular price will be € 35, and on the day and at the venue € 40.
